In this interview, we dive into Paulo’s journey in IT, his favorite aspects of working in tech support, and a glimpse into his life beyond the office.
“The people make all the difference. I have the best co-workers in the world.”
How long have you been working at Nutech Digital?
I’ve been with Nutech Digital for over four years now. I was hired during the pandemic in August 2020 after graduating from the Business Information Technology program at Red River College. Since then, I have been working full-time at the Winnipeg office, through many location changes! My time at Nutech has been a journey of professional growth, and I’ve had the opportunity to be part of a lot of different projects during that time.
What do you do at Nutech?
My main role is in IT support. This includes diagnosing, troubleshooting, resolving issues to keep everything running smoothly, and overall maintaining a high-level of service for our customers.
A day at work can look like: responding to inquiries, going on site to meet with clients, providing software and hardware support, implementing backup and recovery, documenting client interactions—and once in a while, assembling office chairs.
But I wear many different hats here. I also collaborate with our development team—whether it’s creating websites, web apps, or mobile apps. It’s great because I get to work on a variety of projects, I’ve done work for numerous different industries as well. Right now, we have a lot of trucking and healthcare clients, which keeps things interesting and helps me continuously improve my skills.
What do you like about your job?
Honestly, the people I work with make all the difference. I have the best co-workers in the world. I’m lucky to be part of such a hardworking team. We communicate well, and everyone supports each other. There’s a strong sense of collaboration here, which makes challenging projects easier to handle.
What are some of your interests and hobbies?
You can usually find me tinkering with something. Whether it’s putting together a model kit, building a new computer or server, or experimenting with new software, I love projects that challenge me. I’m also a big fan of games, especially the kind that let me tinker or build in some way.
I always seem to have a hobby to keep me busy. I’ve gone through many different phases, but one of my favourites was collecting Marvel action figures. I’ve built up a collection of collections over the years, and I’m always on the lookout for something new that piques my interest.

I recently got engaged! My fiancee and I are in the midst of wedding planning.
